Level 1,000 reached in Gotham City Imposters

by Paul Yan - on Apr 7th 2012 - No Comments

While everyone’s having fun at PAX East except for me [insert sad face], I decided to kill some time tonight by playing the very fun Gotham City Imposters, and lo and behold, I managed to spot a player that was level 1,000 (which I’m assuming is the max level in the game).

GCI came out around two months ago, and while that’s like 9,999 years for hardcore gamers, it’s still always staggeringly impressive that there are people out there have that much time and dedication on their hands. If you’re wondering what it takes to get to level 1,000 in GCI, it’s basically equivalent to prestiging 10 times in Call of Duty, and this is the first time that I’ve seen a level 1,000 GCI player. Heck, I didn’t even know there was 1,000 freakin’ levels in GCI until now!

Haemimont Games and Kalypso Media unveil Omerta: City of Gangsters

by Elias - on Mar 7th 2012 - 2 Comments

Haemimont Games and Kalypso Media, the same awesome people behind the Tropico series are proud to unveil Omerta: City of Gangsters. As a strategy game, Omerta will focus on the activities of organized crime in Atlantic City during the 1920′s. Fresh of the boat you play the role a character working on making a name for himself. With this game things are going to be interesting being that in the 1920′s was a prohibition era where alcohol was illegal and rum runners distributed alcohol illegally. Below you can see some of the cool things that you can expect on this game.

  • Historically accurate representation of Atlantic City and its landmarks
  • Strategic gameplay allows city overview, planning, expansion and gathering of intel
  • Turn-based tactical combat with a cover system and stealth action
  • 15 unique player controlled characters each with a unique personalities and backgrounds
  • An RPG system for development of player characters and managing their gear
  • Competitive and cooperative multiplayer mode with persistent multiplayer gang
  • 15+ hours of gameplay in a single play-through
  • 20 unique maps visualizing the various districts of Atlantic City

Be sure to look out for Omerta: City of Gangsters around the fall coming to the PC, but for now check out the screenshots below, which look great.

Assassin’s Creed III’s official box art revealed, get ready for Revolutionary War

by Paul Yan - on Mar 1st 2012 - No Comments

Hot on the heels of Assassin’s Creed III‘s allegedly leaked promotional art comes something more official: the image of the game’s official box art.

Posted on AC’s Facebook page, AC III’s cover art for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC pretty much confirms that AC III will indeed be set in the Revolutionary War as the Continental flag can be seen in the background. In the foreground, a white-clad, tomahawk-wielding assassin is seemingly about to kill a redcoat. Notice the gun in the air!

I fell off the AC bandwagon after AC II, but the Revolutionary War setting has me very, very intrigued. Consider me back on the bandwagon!
