Available now, Atlus has put some of the games that were PSP only on to the Playstation Vita. The PSP Games you can re-purchase and play on the PS Vita

by Elias - on Dec 1st 2011 - No Comments

The other day we put up the details of the Playstation Passport program that will let current PSP owners download the games that they purchased on UMD and put them on the Playstation Vita. At the time the list of which games will become available for download was not available, but now the Japanese Playstation website is listing the full list of games. The program will become available once the Playstation Vita comes out in Japan and then in North America.

Check out the list, but be aware that this is the Japanese list, which means that the North American version will probably have the game that you want to download.

Would you like to play your PSP games on PS Vita?

by Elias - on Nov 12th 2011 - No Comments

As you may know the Playstation Vita is coming out in Japan on December 17, 2011 and in February 22, 2012 it will be released in Europe & North America. One of the major concerns that current PSP owners have is that that we want to play those games on the future handheld and as we all know, PS Vita will not support UMD. Luckily for us, Sony has created a solution that will solve this and the way they are doing this is with a plan called “UMD Passport” an app that will be available for download via the Playstation Store. For a fee you will be able to download these games and play them on the PS Vita.

The Service starts December 6, 2011 in Japan and when you download the app and enter a Universal Media Disk (UMD) it will prompt you to register with PSN. Once the PS Vita becomes available you can start downloading these games and enjoying them on the new handheld.

The prices for these downloads can range from $1.99 to $30 dollars US and according to some of our sources not all game publishers will be offering their games for digital download. However there is a list of about $40 major publishers that are signing up to make their games available.

As always keep checking with us as more details emerge.

The Japanese Release Date of the Playstation Vita get’s revealed!

by Elias - on Sep 26th 2011 - No Comments

Usually we get earlier released dates here in the states, but if you live in Japan chances are that you will get to play on the upcoming Playstation Vita handheld. In the Tokyo Game Show it was revealed the release date for Japan is December 17, 2011 only just a few days from Christmas. If you can remember, the PSP was released about 3 to 4 months earlier in Japan, which indicates that this may happen with the Vita. In our opinion a 23rd of December this year will make more sales being that it’s a time where everybody buys.
