Sony is going to Compensate PSN users!

by Elias - on May 1st 2011 - No Comments

After the major fuckup over at Sony with the Playstation Network it is good to know that the Playstation Network is probably going to be up really soon. Sony is also planning to compensate all Playstation users with some free things, which is nice of them. Earlier today they released some information and it looks like there will be a free Playstation Plus month trial as well as complimentary downloads. It isn’t clear as to what kind of download are we talking about, but hey at least they are doing something even though the service is free.

Here’s what Sony had to say on this

Complimentary Offering and “Welcome Back” Appreciation Program
While there is no evidence at this time that credit card data was taken, the company is committed to helping its customers protect their personal data and will provide a complimentary offering to assist users in enrolling in identity theft protection services and/or similar programs. The implementation will be at a local level and further details will be made available shortly in each region.

The company will also rollout the PlayStation Network and Qriocity “Welcome Back” program, to be offered worldwide, which will be tailored to specific markets to provide our consumers with a selection of service options and premium content as an expression of the company’s appreciation for their patience, support and continued loyalty.

Central components of the “Welcome Back” program will include:

  • Each territory will be offering selected PlayStation entertainment content for free download. Specific details of this content will be announced in each region soon.
  • All existing PlayStation Network customers will be provided with 30 days free membership in the PlayStation Plus premium service. Current members of PlayStation Plus will receive 30 days free service.
  • Music Unlimited powered by Qriocity subscribers (in countries where the service is available) will receive 30 days free service.

Additional “Welcome Back” entertainment and service offerings will be rolled out over the coming weeks as the company returns the PlayStation Network and Qriocity services to the quality standard users have grown to enjoy and strive to exceed those exceptions.

We hope that these downloads are full quality games and not $10 dollar titles, because that would blow. It is cool to tryout Playstation Plus and it will probably do Sony good when it comes to subscribers.

PSN Users: You’re credit card and PSN Password were probably stolen!

by Elias - on Apr 28th 2011 - No Comments

If you are a Playstation Network user you may end up getting sensitive information stolen from you as it is official the PSN has been hacked. According to the Playstation blog; information such as credit cards, names, emails, passwords, addresses and many other information have been stolen when PSN was attacked last week. Things are looking pretty bad for those hackers as Sony is involving the Feds as well as their own investigation team to get to the bottom of this issue.

This is not good press for Sony as they seemed almost perfect and an intrusion like this one is probably going to give them a bad name. The last thing we want is for Sony to give up on making consoles, because of a few hackers, so we ask you PSN users to be patient with Sony as they are working their butts off to fix this.

Below is an update Questions and Answers from Sony where they tell us everything that’s happening, what we should do and what they are doing to make things better.

I can’t play Mortal Kombat online because the Playstation Network is down!

by Elias - on Apr 21st 2011 - No Comments

Not to bitch or complain here, but if you were like me and preordered the new Mortal Kombat game on the PS3 you will probably be disappointed with the Playstation Network as it is currently down. When you try and log in you may get a message that says “An error has occurred. You have been signed out of Playstation Network (80710A06)” This means that Sony is probably working on something that may improve things, but who knows it may be that Anonymous person that is pissed at Sony for blocking some of things on their console.

Let us hope that Sony fixes this shit soon as it is quite irritating especially now that I want to try playing Mortal Kombat to give it a review.

We had a chat with Mo Chocolate from the Tester 2

by Elias - on Mar 30th 2011 - 6 Comments

A couple of months ago I was upset with Sony and the cast in season two of the popular gamer show that we know as The Tester. I didn’t like the way that one cast member was treated in the show and that was Mr. Mohamed Obsieyeh aka Mo Chocolate. I felt that it was unfair for them attack the guy exclusively, but forgot that the show that we were watching was a competition and that in many cases that’s what gaming is all about. The comments I made were a little bit below the belt and in a recent interview with Mo Chocolate we got a chance to find out the real facts straight from him directly and because of him we are slowly respecting Sony, The Tester and Playstation once again.

On Racism
In our talk with Mo, we got a chance to ask him a few questions about what was like for him to be on The Tester 2. He was happy to say that the people of Sony treated him well and that being on The Tester “was the best experience of my life to date”  At the time that we saw the show it seemed like maybe it was kind of racist, but looking at the show once again we realized that it’s a competition and although we do not agree with anyone being singled out as a weak link, we want to clarify that The Tester Season 2 wasn’t a racist show at all. In our opinion, I hope that Sony takes The Tester 3 back to the basics that we saw in Season one.

On Big Fazeek
There is no doubt that this guy was a total jerk to everyone and the way he behaved was certainly unacceptable even though this was a competition. The way he treated the girls especially War Princess was really unnecessary. We do have to say that back then it felt like Sony might of hired Big Fazeek to kind of spice up the show and be a jerk, but we said this because he gave us that impression. There is no actual proof that Sony did this, but then again the only people that know this are people that wrote and directed the show. In his defense there’s always two different sides of a story.

On Gaymer
After talking to Mo, I realize that I might of been a bit harsh on Gaymer, the casting crew and writers of season 2, however from looking at Gaymer you can tell that he is very intelligent. While watching the show’s first episode I had a feeling that he was going to win. Gaymer did make a video in which he shared sympathy for Mo Chocolate and for that he gets our respect. I also want to clear the record that I have nothing against gay people just as long as they are as fair to straight people the same way that they would be to their own people and that goes to anyone in any race and religion as well. In the end our hopes is that we treat each other equal and that applies to everybody including me.

Anyways after our chat we learned a lot of things that were going on behind the scenes that makes us understand the situation a lot better, and because of this we wanted to clarify that Sony isn’t racist at all. If you haven’t checked out The Tester Season 2 head on over to the Playstation Store and download it as it is free. Also be sure to check out Mo Chocolate’s Youtube Channel and subscribe as he is a funny dude that brings some nice comedy into Youtube.

Finally being a Playstation 3 owner has it’s perks especially if you are a member of Playstation Plus. If you wanted to get your action on and test out Mortal Kombat 9 you will be able earlier than anyone else that is if you Have PS Plus. The demo will arrive on March 8 only two days from now, which should make things interesting if you have been waiting for this game for a while. It will be nice to see Kratos there, but we can’t promise anything.

If you live in Europe and were expecting a Playstation app for your iPhone or Android based phone well wait no longer. According to the Playstation Blog in Europe there is going to be an official app that will be released on iTunes as well as the Android Market very soon. Playstation 3 users in the United States will have to wait for a while, but not too long, let’s hope.
