In other words, games bought at brick and mortar stores will cost $40 at most (reportedly), while digital versions of those same games would be just $23, reports Thrifty Nerd who adds that the “lack of hardware and packaging” are reasons for the price drop.

A discount is also reportedly being offered in Japan with downloadable PSN titles going for $40 versus $50 (at the highest) for boxed versions.

If the price drop for the U.S. is indeed true, then the high price of Sony’s expensive proprietary memory cards for PS Vita might not seem that bad after all.

Those that enjoy the Sour Patch Kids candy treat will be happy to know that they’ll have the opportunity to enjoy it in video game form, as Capcom announced today that they’re publishing a Sour Patch Kids game titled World Gone Sour.

In the game, you play as a tiny, lost Sour Patch kid trying to find your way to a place where all tasty Sour Patch Kids ultimately end up – in the belly. In an oversized human world, you’ll navigate through places like sticky movie theater floors and concession stand counters. Along the way, you’ll meet other Patch kids, fight candy enemies (perhaps gummi bears?), encounter “deranged” humans, and even be pitted against a wad of sticky chewing gum.

“Bringing our ‘lost kids’ to life in video game form will add a new dimension to these lovable snacks,” Sour Patch’s marketing director Sebastian Genesio said in the press release.

World Gone Sour will include two-player local co-op, leaderboards, and Xbox 360 achievement and PS3 trophy support. Interestingly, the game will not only feature “cheeky” narration from The Offices’ Creed Bratton, but will also feature a song from … Method Man. Yes, Method Man, the rapper. You can apparently listen to his song for the game, titled “World Gone Sour (The Lost Kids),” here.

(Man, I never thought I’d be using the words “Method Man,” “deranged” and “Sour Patch Kids” in one post before.)

You’ll be able to get your hands on World Gone Sour “this winter” for the PC. It will cost $5, and will also be out on PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade “this spring” for $5 and 400 MSP, respectively.

If you are Playstation 3 owner you probably know that The Tester Season has opened up their casting. It seems like the first winner has been chosen and his name is Arin Hanson known as Egoraptor. He is the first winner and there will be more that will get to compete for a job at Sony to be a Playstation Game Tester.
