If the game is not delayed will be released on August 23, 2013, which is only months away.

Unfortunately there is no information in regards to next gen or current generation consoles. What is certain of course is that it’s very likely that the game will make it to the PC. We will have to wait and see as more details come our way.

The folks over at Sony have finally announced the successor to the PlayStation 3. This new console will undoubtedly be different, but what is interesting is that there will be some exclusives and that the console will have a lot of first party support. Unfortunately in the live conference the company didn’t show the exact console’s design, but they did give us a glimpse on the Dualshock 4 controller. What we are all certain of is that it’s going to be more advanced than it’s predecessor with memory up to 8 GB and a “massive hard drive” according to Mark Cerny, Architect of the PS4.

I was expecting to finally see the console and get more technical specs and from first party developers, I expected something new from Naughty Dog, but I guess that’s just wishful thinking.

Below we have the Dualshock 4, which seems to have touch features as well as enhanced rumble capabilities and it’s a lot more bulkier. The Dualshock 4 is going to have motion capabilities, a headphone jack similar to the XBOX 360 controller as well as a share button as this new console is going to be a very social experience comparing to the PS3.

Another interesting feature that was shown at the event was the camera bar that resembles that of the Nintendo Wii sensor bar, which is a bit smaller. The PS4 is going to suspend/resume features as well as a separate processor that will handle downloads without game interruption and gamers are going play games while they are downloading.

Streaming is also going to be another feature that will be included in the console, which means that you will get to live stream game footage to friends.

There will be some exclusive third party games that will make it to the PS4. The independent developer of Braid featured an awesome game called “The Witness” and that game looks amazing. You can watch the trailer here.

And last, but not least the PlayStation 4 will be released around the holiday season of 2013. This is just months away and with Pax East coming here to Boston next months be sure to check with us as more details come our way.

According to close sources of Kotaku, the upcoming Playstation 4 console might be getting “Orbis” as it’s name. This information has already been denied by the people over at Sony, but it’s something that we should keep on the back of our minds for the future. It has been about 5 years since the PS3 came out and even though Sony plans to give the console a ten year life cycle, they know that the PS3 is getting old. With rumors already going around of the XBOX Durango it’s understandable that these start. As of now this is only a rumor, but continue to check with us as more details emerge.

Whoa, how about this for a rumor. According to MCV’s “third-party publishing sources,” Microsoft’s next Xbox and Sony’s next PlayStation home consoles will be unveiled at this year’s E3.

As MCV points out, this could be the biggest E3 ever if The Big Three — Nintendo, Microsoft and Sony — decide to show off their next major gaming consoles at the event. That is, however, a big if.

It’s been speculated that the Xbox 720 and PS4 (as some are calling them) won’t be revealed/released at least until 2013. But perhaps Sony and Microsoft don’t want Nintendo hogging all the E3 spotlight this June?

A new rumor suggest that Sony is probably going to release information on a new console that might end up being the Playstation 4. The details come from Bitmob, where I guess one of their tipsters told them that a PS4 is coming in 18 months. We deal with tipsters all the time and it’s interesting that none of our tipsters have anything to say on if a console is coming. In our opiniom PS3 owners shouldn’t worry about the PS4 as Sony will not make that kind of mistake and announce a console just yet.

If we had to guess, the PS4 will probably be available 3 years or more from today. However they might release information and screenshots of a future console and that’s  a possibility, being that if any news came out of a future console now it would hurt the Playstation 3 and even PSN.

The new consoles from Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo will require more attention and more staff,’ said Eidos Montreal director Stéphane D’Astous. ‘We want to prepare ourselves.’

It kind of make sense for them to start working on the new technology that way when these next generation consoles come out they aren’t left behind. There are also some rumors going around on the Wii 2 and some even say that Nintendo is going after hardcore gamers as well as the casual types. We already know about a PS4 console being in the works, but there isn’t substantial news about this, so we are going to leave it as that. As far as an XBOX 720, we might hear of that really soon and possibly at E3 ins Los Angeles being that the XBOX 360 is six years old.

We will have to wait and see what happens, but if Sony is already making Playstation 4 games than this means that they already have the console available for their developers to test these games in it or at least a developer kit, which make sense because Sony is trying to approach the whole 3D television thing, but for now keep this in the rumor and speculation category.

It looks like the next generation of consoles could be under development already. Although this may just be a rumor as of now, there are some hints out there that tell of the probability of new consoles in development or at least in early stages of development and planning. Although Sony is still selling the Playstation 2 even after 9 and almost 10 years of it’s release, and 138 million consoles sold (as of September 1, 2009) they are still going to push the PS3 a bit further than the other consoles simply because the PS3 console has the best technology out there.

The PS3 is far ahead of its time and the probability of a new Playstation is highly unlikely maybe in 2015. The companies who I see developing new consoles are Microsoft and  Nintendo because there consoles are more inferior than the PS3 and also when you look at the history of the XBOX at the time it was released November 15, 2001 and when it was discontinued in 2005 that is only about  4 year lifespan.  The XBOX 360 was released in  November 22, 2005 and it’s almost 2010 that means that Microsoft is probably working or are looking into making a new one if they haven’t made one already.

In one of the last years that Peter Moore was with Microsoft as the head of Interactive Entertainment Business division he was interviewed by EGM magazine who asked him when would the next console come out and also asked if they would drop support on the 360 as they did with the original XBOX and he answered that the going to support it “as long as it sold” which is really the thing to say if you want to sell more consoles.

Late 2008, The Inquirer newspaper reported of a speculation from industry insiders that Intel has been trying to get their new high-performance CPU into the next generation 360 or XBOX 720. They want to get the deal instead of AMD or IBM so there probably will give Microsoft the best for their buck. So if industry insiders are already talking about it chances are it will happen soon, but as of it is only a rumor.

The next Nintendo Wii or whatever they call it is highly possible, but it will probably stay in the Seventh Generation era and most likely it will be a Wii HD console basically a better Nintendo Wii. And then there is also a rumor going around about Nintendo registering new trademarks in 2007 Zii, Cii, Bii and Yii over in Japan which could probably be some hints of things to come.

Whatever these companies decide to do, we hope it waits especially with the PS3 and the XBOX 360 because they are the best consoles when it comes to technology. If it’s a decade of different consoles it would be the wiser decision because the company sells more consoles that way and more games are made for it because it gives developers the time to develop these games. It is also good for the consumer because why would you want to change a console every 5 years?
