Just Cause 2 has more DLC coming it’s way!

by Elias - on May 1st 2010 - No Comments

As you probably already knew, we gave Just Cause 2 a very low score in the review and it’s not that we do not like the game, but it was really the vehicles and getting around the islands of Panau that has always been annoying. With this new Downloadable content our prayers have been answered and it will make the game a bit more interesting because one of  things that will be on the DLC is the rocket on the para-shoot, which will probably feel like a a fighter jet.

Below you can watch the trailer for the upcoming Just Cause 2 DLC.

Just Cause 2: Multiplayer Mod [PC]

by Elias - on Apr 16th 2010 - No Comments

Video game mod creators have already started working on a mod for the awesome Just Cause 2, which means that if you have the game for the PC you will probably get the chance to play Just Cause 2 online with other players. The video below could have been edited, but it looks too darn real. It would be interesting to see what they do with it and could you connect with a player online and do the missions or is it a mod that you just drive around and have fun. We will keep you updated on this one, but for now watch the trailer above.

Just Cause 2: The Twisted Junk Review

by Elias - on Apr 11th 2010 - 1 Comment

As you probably already know we at TwistedJunk are huge fans of Grand Theft Auto clones or games with a sandbox style in them. The team at Avalanche Studios and Eidos did do indeed a great job with Just Cause 2 and we are quite impressed with this game. As life isn’t perfect we can’t expect games to be either and we will tell you of the bad things first and to finish things off we will let you know of the good things because there is a  lot  is a lot of good in it.

The Bad

Just Cause 2 has some good things that were going to point out in the good section, but here is the bad. We are sure the game developers had great intentions with the game, but there were some things that needed to be in this game and it seems like the creators of the game just didn’t think of these things at all.

  • Vehicles and ways to get around
  • The vehicles and transportation system of this game simply suck, they are slow and the cars are bad quality which makes the game a little annoying being that the Island is huge. Accessibility of vehicles is another huge problem because while you are in one Panau’s many highways there are cars everywhere,  but try looking for a boat or an aircraft you will be lucky if you find one and then if you do someone is always trying to shoot you down and fuck up your ride.
  • Boats / The Bad
  • Boats are a problem because it isn’t that there aren’t any boats around, it’s that when you do manage to find one it always belongs to the army. I have found boats that belong to civilians, but even those get shut down. In a place as big as Panau you just can’t have too much of that because you will be swimming for hours to get to a certain location. There is a lot of sea in this game and without the proper boat system the game gets’s annoying people.
  • Aircrafts / The Bad
  • Aircrafts are another problem because you have to check your map to see which is the closest military airport around and some of the airports don’t have planes in them, which makes things even more frustrating than they already are.
  • Our suggestion.
  • Put in a future game a taxi system similar to the one on GTA where if you need to get to a location it just gets you there.
  • Missions
  • The missions in Just Cause 2 get really annoying because once you start one you can’t leave the place of the mission and if you do then the mission is basically over.

Suggestion: Make it optional

The Good

  • There is no doubt that Just Cause 2 is a good game and we know that it is, but as much as there are negative things about the game there are good and positive things. Below are the benefits of owning Just Cause 2.
  • Grappling Hook
  • The grappling hook is probably the main reason that and this game and I have a love hate relationship. A great thing that can be used as a weapon and simply to do fun stuff with.
  • The Para shoot
  • The par shoot is another feature that we love about this game, being that the transportation of the game sucks you end up using it the most because it is really the fastest way around the island.
  • The Map
  • The map is pretty impressive because it’s huge it almost feels like Just Cause 2 added each country on this earth to the game and that is a lot of real estate. Its good to be in a tropical region and then get on a plane and get to a location with snow, or a desert area and the developers did a great job at the feel of the game.
  • Loading Time
  • The great thing about this game is that once you load the game you don’t have to worry about loading time. if you die or get out of the mission area you will die and then have to wait a bit to get back to the mission, but not too long.

In conclusion playing as Rico Rodriguez brought back old memories of the original character and for sure it’s a game that we will play a lot as it is really fun. We were not happy with the accessibility of vehicles, and the amount of time that it takes to get to certain vehicles, but that’s ok if you like to repeat yourself a lot.  The missions were also annoying to play being that once started one you are basically on house arrest on that location which means you cannot leave that location. The good things simply do not make up for the bad things as there are more annoying things than fun things

Just Cause 2 is in stores right now!

by Elias - on Mar 24th 2010 - No Comments

Well technically it came out yesterday and because this is one title that is in our list of must get games, we went right away and got the game at our local game store. The game really impressed us because there isn’t  anything like this.

The world is huge with islands everywhere and different weather. We got stuck in an island that is a military base and there were no vehicles or even roads just rain and trees everywhere. Think about Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, but like 10 times bigger and with better graphics.

Just Cause 2 The Demo Impressions [Playstation 3]

by Elias - on Mar 13th 2010 - No Comments

We recently downloaded the demo for Just Cause 2 on the Playstation 3 and well you probably already know that one of our favorite games is the Grand Theft Auto series and games similar to that genre. You also should know that we were disappointed with Rockstar because the map on Grand Theft Auto 4 was really small and made us feel short changed.

Just Cause 2 has done the opposite of Grand Theft Auto IV and the developers really knew what the gamers wanted and that is a big map. The demo on Just Cause 2 starts off in the desert region of Panau, the fictional island archipelago in the game and you get to experience the dry desert towns and even ghost towns of that region in the game.

The funny part of the game is that the desert region is only a small area in the demo. If you look at the map you can tell that it’s robust island with a very diverse eco system, which makes the game more interesting. Just Cause 2 has a Spiderman feel to it because of a that hook that Rico has which he can use to pull people and do many other cool things.

You can hook a enemy to a propaine tank, shoot the tank and have the tank drag the enemy around until it eventually explodes. Another cool thing is if you are driving a vehicle, you you can hook the enemy to the vehicle and drive around until eventually the body decomposes. Just Cause 2 will be available on the Playstation 3, XBOX 360 and PC March, 23, 2010.

Because the demo is so awesome, the gameplay is fun and reminds us of Grand Theft Auto, we give the Just Cause 2 Demo a 5 out of 5.

Just Cause 2: Freedom & Chaos trailer

by Elias - on Feb 7th 2010 - No Comments

This is another anticpated game that looks like it will not disapoint, the Just Cause 2 crew has hys released a neat trailer which they called Freedom & Chaos. A facinating part of this game is that finally we get to see a map of Panau which is supposed to be a fictional archipelago type of place with many islands and many different types of weather. If only the guys at Rockstar did something like this with their Grand Theft Auto series then were talking gaming.

Anyways take a look below
