Grand Theft Auto Vice City Nights for the Vita?

by Elias - on Mar 11th 2012 - No Comments

About 2 weeks ago we received a tip that suggested  Grand Theft Auto IV: Stories for the Vita and while it was difficult to believe this, we posted the article to notify you GTA fans out there of this future game. Our tipster gave us a lot of details and it caused quite a stir around N4G and other sites were talking about it. As with any tip, we usually post those type of articles under the rumors section until there is an official confirmation from the publisher.

To give you guys an update, we thought that you should know that Eurogamer posted a screengrab of what appears to be a Grand Theft Auto for the PlayStation Vita. The screen was taken from the major European game store known as Play.com. In the image it shows that the retailer posted Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Nights with preorder options, which is a really good hint of a future title. Although this may be a mistake from the retailer there are times in which game stores have sensitive information about future games and their releases.

In my opinion Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Nights on the PlayStation Vita would be awesome, but I highly doubt that Rockstar would put all this effort at creating a new Vice City just for the handheld. I can see them doing this for the consoles and then making a slim down version that would work with the handheld. We will have to wait and see, but below you can see the item as it was posted on Play.com.

Rumor: GTA V details include a bigger world, animals, GTA: San Andreas features, and more

by Paul Yan - on Nov 8th 2011 - No Comments

Purported details for Grand Theft Auto V appeared online last week. They were posted on GTAForums.com from a user named “GTA5RULESALL” who claims to work for a “Playstation magazine in the UK.” Additionally, the user says his team has seen a 30-minute GTA V gameplay video.

Some of the info that was posted includes Los Santos being at least four times larger than GTA IV’s Liberty City, improved shooting mechanics, customizable weapons and character (a “CJ”-like playable character is noted), drivable planes, upgradable vehicles, and a weapon-crafting and leveling-up system (the latter, which was featured in GTA: San Andreas, is said to improve your weapon skills and other abilities).

Also, there will purportedly be animals like dogs and cattle (it’s unknown if they can be harmed, however), more climbable things and indoor locations, various mini-games and NPC-to-NPC interactions, environmental-based tremors, and a more forgiving crime-alert system, yet more “realistic” cops (they’ll use smoke/tear gas, dogs, etc.).

Hit the link below to read more, but do so while taking your daily supplement of salt since these aren’t official details.

Call of Duty might be bigger than Grand Theft Auto according to Pachter

by Elias - on Sep 21st 2011 - No Comments

Research Analyst, Michael Pachter of Wedbush Securities is known to speak out on industry related matters. This time around Patcher went on to say that Call of Duty is way bigger then Grand Theft Auto when it comes to sales as COD has become a game that gets released every year. This should serve as a blow to Rockstar Games that releases a GTA game every four to six years. In one way as gamers we understand that it takes work to make a game, but to wait for such a long time to play a title that has very little replay value like GTA IV is just unacceptable.

In his own words here’s what Pachter said to Industry Gamers

“Call of Duty is bigger, and GTA will not maintain its position as the world’s biggest mainstream franchise,

The main difference, of course, is that Rockstar takes its time with GTA, releasing one title every few years, whereas Activision has managed to successfully annualize Call of Duty and sell a boatload with every new iteration. That’s kept Call of Duty top of mind with many gamers. While GTA might sell 25 million every four years, Call of Duty can sell 20 million essentially every year (at least for now).

Eventually, Call of Duty may suffer from fatigue, and GTA could keep chugging along, but it will be 8 years before we can make that call,

Grand Theft Auto: Vice City get’s the RAGE treatment

by Elias - on Sep 3rd 2011 - No Comments

If you were old enough to have the privilege to play Grand Theft Auto: Vice City in 2002 when it came out you probably appreciate what a group of moders are doing to the game. The other day GTA: San Andreas was updated and what we mean by that is it’s graphics. The modification looked great and it felt like play Grand Theft Auto IV and this is the same thing that these very smart modders are doing making the graphics of the original vice cily compete with that of GTA IV.

Below you can see a video of what to expect and let’s say that these geniuses are planing to release the mod this coming Christmas.

The Twisted Junk: Review of L.A. Noire

by Elias - on Jul 25th 2011 - No Comments
Developed by Rockstar Games and Team Bondi out of Australia, L.A. Noire takes into the life of Cole Phelps, a World War 2 Military service man that’s out to make things right by joining the L.A. police force. Around those days L.A was a different place and there were a lot of serial killers as well as copycat killers and although it seemed like a pleasant place the crime situation and corruption was huge. Your job while playing this game is to investigate and find evidence of foul play and get these bad guys into prison or out of the hook.

What makes this game stand out is looking at the facial expression of the people you interrogate and you really do have to look at these faces and basically use your instinct in order to determine whether their lying or telling you the truth. There will be times in which you will fail and that is because sometimes the faces can be a little tricky. Iin one instance you will notice a character in the game that will mislead you and make you think that their telling you the truth when in fact it’s a lie. The graphics are exactly what we were expecting from Mafia 2, but the folks over at 2K failed to bring this to their game. Luckily for us Team Bondi came in with L.A. Noire and showed 2K games how video games are supposed to be created especially with a 1940’s theme.
