Facebook is sharing your home address and phone numbers with app developers!

by Elias - on Mar 4th 2011 - 1 Comment

A major concern with Facebook has been privacy as there have been many issues these days with people on facebook. You hear it all the time that someone was killed for using the site and quite frankly Facebook doesn’t protect your privacy unless you follow some steps that ensure you will be safe. We will be putting out a tutorial on how to keep yourself while using facebook, so keep checking with us as we are currently working on it. To continue what we were saying about privacy and facebook we have some troubling news coming from Mary Hodder, chairman of the Personal Data Ecosystem Consortium.

Here’s what she had to say

“People never thought when they were posting this data [such as their phone numbers] that it would be accessible to anyone but friends. There’s a real mismatch of expectations around that. Even if Facebook comes back with new protections, they’re still saying, ‘Hey, get over it, your data is public.’ I feel badly for users that Facebook’s approach is ‘You give us anything and it’s all fair game.’”

“You need to explicitly choose to share your data before any app or website can access it and no private information is shared without your permission.”

It’s ok for friends to have access to this information as most of them have your info if they already have it if they really know you. Its kind of disturbing that app developers can have access to this sensitive information as anyone can become an app developer.

There is a baby named facebook!

by Elias - on Feb 21st 2011 - No Comments

As if life wasn’t hard enough with bullies on the schools there are parents that continue to fuck their kids lives up by naming them horrible names that will scar there lives forever. First it starts off with celebrities like Ashlee Simpson naming her kid Bronx thinking that in fifteen years she will be like Madonna when in fact the most people expect her to be is a Stacy Q. Then of course Angelina Jolie messing up her kids especially the one she called Knox, but to some degree she can do it being that she’s really famous and her husband is Brad Pitt.

Now a couple in Egypt has named their newborn baby girl “Facebook”  and maybe in the Middle East that’s a cool thing, but for crying out loud what if she wants to be a lawyer or doctor?. Then of course she will eventually find out that Facebook was started by a Jew, which will make things harder on her as other kids will probably know of the whole Facebook Jewish thing. In a unstable region like the Middle East where being Jewish is considered almost a crime in many of those countries having a name like face might be a bad idea, but hey we are twisted like that, so don’t mind us.
