There have been various Linkedin in profiles and resumes that suggest the sequel to some really awesome games. These games are Battlefield Bad Company 3, Mirror’s Edge 2, and Deus EX 4, which could possibly be in early development already. With E3 around the corner, these titles will probably get announced at the expo this year. We hope that you take this as a rumor being that this information is not coming from either EA or the folks over Square Enix.
The Mirror’s Edge 3 news comes from ex EA software engineer posted that he had worked on a “wandering of crowd system within the Unreal 3 Engine.” Then another former EA employee posted that he had build “new gadget and interactive features” for Mirror’s Edge 2 as well as leaderboards and a minigame.
Battlefield Bad Company is talked about from a user that suggested he “provided video game prototype, design, and demo feedback on various AAA titles including Battlefield: Bad Company 3, Dead Space 2, Devil May Cry 5, and other unannounced titles.”
And last, but not least, there was a job listing also on Linkedin that suggest Deus Ex 4. In the listing, which has been taken down since then, it was described that a major Canadian company is looking for a cinematic director. This company was also looking for programmers, developers and artists for a “well known and respected action/adventure title, with elements of choice and stealth within the gameplay.” The game was also described as a “semi open-world action adventure title that responds to player choice and interaction.” Deus EX is franchise that gets developed by Eidos Montreal, who happen to be a Subsidiary of Square Enix.
As we said up top, this is only a rumor, so take this as a grain of salt. We will have to wait and see what happens over at E3 as this could be the best so far.
Crysis has always been known for setting the standard when it comes to visuals. Below we have some screenshots for the awesome game, which is coming out around the fall of 2013. Crysis 3 is set in 2047 New York City that will not be recognizable. The rainforest took over NYC and the city that we all know of has become and urban rain forest. Play as the lead character, Prophet and battle aliens and humans using some awesome and interesting weapons.
Before the Modern Warfare games even existed, Battlefield was the sheriff in town. With it’s multiplayer & co-op being the reason to play the game, first person shooter fans enjoyed a variety of maps that suited to even the most critical gamer. This time around, Battlefield 3 comes with the Frostbite 2 game engine and pretty much speaks for itself with it’s amazing graphics and even a single player campaign that’s actually quite good. With Battlefield it was always about the gamer and certainly not about limitations and you will see that if you get a chance to play it.
It’s really the only next-gen first person shooter out there that allows you to drive tanks, jeeps and fly jets & helicopters. The experience that this game has is one that will bring in that nostalgia that fans of the series were soo desperately waiting for.
If you are reading this review you probably want to know if it’s a game that you should buy, rent or simply stay away from. In our opinion you should buy this game, but only if you are a fan of the series. Battlefield as we know it has changed and it no longer feels like the game that we played a couple of years ago. You will see why once you read our critique section of the review.
The Single Player
With battlefield 1942, and 2 the single player was really bad and both of those previous games were all about multi-player. This changes of course with Battlefield 3 as it has an appealing story set in 2014. It starts things off with Staff sergeant, Blackburn that leads a squad of five men on a mission to locate, find and safely return a squad that’s investigating a possible improvised explosive device (IED). We do not want to spoil it for you, but in the single player campaign there’s a mission that will let you assist in a military jet operation, which you will see in the video below.
The Multiplayer
At the end of the day as gamers all that we want is the multi-player and the matching system is the feature that impressed us the most. With this system in Battelfield 3 you can choose which map to start playing on and once everything loads there is an option where players pick where to want to spawn. If you want to play in a squad that is possivke can do that and the system will spawn you in that specific squad that you picked. While playing the on the multiplayer you get to pick one of four roles: Assault, Support, Engineer and Recon. This makes it easy for the player to pick and go and there are some customization of weapons.
Vehicles
One of the major features that distinguishes Battlefield is that there are playable Army vehicles in the game. You can hop in a M1 Abrams or T-90 if you happen to be playing on the Russian team. There are APC’s such as the BPM-2, LAV 25 and 9K22 Tunguska. If flying Helicopters is your thing there is a bigger variety of them with AH-1 Super Cobra, Mi-28, Uh-1Y Super Huey, KA-60, AH-6J Little Bird, and the Z-11. For jets fans out there BF3 has some popular American, Chinese and Russian jets that should tickle your fancy. Some of these aircraft’s are the F/A 18 Super Hornet, A10 Thunderbolt, Sukhoi Su-35, Sukhoi Su-39 F35 and some more that will come in the Back to Karkland expansion pack.
Our Criticism
This is the part that we hate to do the most and the reason that we dislike doing the criticism is because we know that making a game requires a lot of work. While playing Battlefield 3 there were a few things that could of been tweaked and made better, but unfortunately weren’t. The first thing I didn’t like was that it was too much about realism and this made the game unpleasant due to the fact that while multi-player you can get killed very easily. The second negative thing that the game has is that it takes long for you to spawn and if you are a Call of Duty fan you will probably not like to wait. This wouldn’t be a problem if getting killed was harder, but it is very easy to die in this game. And last we disagree with EA and Dice for blocking modifications to the PC versions of the game. Battlefield was always about mods and one of the most popular was the Desert Combat mod by Trauma Studios, a mod that added a modern touch to Battlefield 1942.
Score
Battlefield 3 gets a 7 out of 10 as it had it’s fair amount of things that needed some tweaking. It’s a great game that fans of the franchise will have to get familiar with before they enjoy it. This doesn’t mean that the game is bad in any way, being it was a lot of fun to play, but it didn’t feel as enjoyable to play as MW3 or even Battlefield 2 and 1942.
The thing that will distinguish Battlefield 3 from Modern Warfare 3 is the vehicles and the maps being that are going be much bigger. Below we have the multiplayer trailer of EA’s new masterpiece and from the looks of things, there will be some pretty intense maps on the game. Watch the trailers below and see the awesomeness that you can expect on from Battlefield 3.
If you entered into our Modern Battlefield 3 contest you should know that the Official Winner of Battlefield 3 will be announced this Tuesday October 25. You can still enter to win as there are about 5 days left until Battlefield 3 comes out. If you do not win the game you can still enter to win a copy of Modern Warfare 3 once that comes out.

There is no doubt that Battlefield 3 is going to be badass, but it seems like it’s not getting the respect that it deserves due to Modern Warfare 3. As you know we are still giving away a free copy of either games when they get released and from the looks of things, Modern Warfare 3 is winning the battle. This means that most likely when the winners get picked they will probably be asking for Modern Warfare 3. Below is a video of Battlefield 3 and some of it’s gameplay for you undecided folks out there.
I personally want to play Battlefield 3 as I’m a fan from back in the days of 1942, but I also know how crappy BF Bad Company was and even BF 1943, which was kind of disappointing. Let’s hope that EA gets it right this time like they did with BF 2 and 1942.
