The Amazing Spider-Man swinging back to an open-world NYC as an epilogue to the movie

by Paul Yan - on Dec 7th 2011 - No Comments

Next year we’ll be getting two versions of The Amazing Spider-Man: One will be the Spider-Man movie reboot from Marc Webb, while the other will be the video game movie tie-in from Beenox (Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions, Spider-Man: Edge of Time).

According to a press release (via Joystiq), The Amazing Spider-Man game will be released alongside the movie, taking place after the events of the film. Being written by Hollywood writer Seamus Kevin Fahey (Battlestar Galactica), the game will once again have Spider-Man web-slinging all over an open-ended New York City, this time complete with a new “Web Rush” mechanic and improved navigation and combat.

We’ll be able to catch a new trailer for the game at Spike TV’s Video Game Awards airing this Saturday at 8 p.m. EST/5 p.m. PST. In the meantime, you can swing your way over to the game’s official website which says the game will out for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii, Nintendo 3DS and Nintendo DS.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 may only be out in two days, but for those that can’t wait for the release of Activision’s next installment of its blockbuster military shooter, here’s a look at how you’ll apparently be diving into the single-player action for MW 3.

For those that don’t mind spoilers, enjoy. For the rest, though, just close your eyes and hold your breath until Tuesday (i.e., just two more days!).

6000 Copies of Modern Warfare 3 were stolen!

by Elias - on Nov 6th 2011 - No Comments

It seems like video games these days are becoming as valuable as televisions and other hot items out there. According to reports there have been 6000 copies of Modern Warfare 3 stolen over in Crétei, which is  south Paris, France. It is estimated that the theft will cost Activision approximately 400.000 Euros and will probably disrupt shipments in that region. As you may know Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 will be coming out on November 8, which is only two days away.

Call of Duty Elite: See the Behind the Scenes

by Elias - on Oct 24th 2011 - No Comments

Call of Duty Elite is the technically the social network behind current and future COD games and in the video below you get to see what it is that you will be getting if you decide to use it. Personally I think it’s a great concept as there is a free version of the service and if you get into. For those really hardcore fans out there, Elite has a paid subscription service as well that will give you access to all future DLC  that may become available.

Let us compare the Battlefield 3 & Modern Warfare Launch trailers!

by Elias - on Oct 23rd 2011 - No Comments

With the launching of Battlefield 3 just hours from now and one lucky winner being announced tomorrow, we thought that the least we could do is compare the two launch trailers to see what’s best in our opinion. Looking through the votes on our Modern Battlefield contest it seems like most of our readers voted in favor of Modern Warfare 3.

Battlefield 3 Launch Trailer: Loser

After looking at the official trailer and playing the open beta for BF3 I can admit that Battlefield feels different. In the trailer you get to see some of the single player campaign action and being that this is probably going to be the most technological advanced of the series we’ll have to wait and see how the actual game feels. In the open beta we didn’t get to fly jets and that was one of the major problems of it’s predecessor controlling the jets and helicopter was a bit challenging. While looking at the trailer what sold us was the MH-6 Little Bird helicopters as it brought great memories of Desert Combat the mod for Battlefield 1942.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Trailer: Winner

What really sells a Call of Duty game is it’s incredibly awesome storyline and a perfect multi-player. The trailer below really blew us away and will probably do the same for you especially if you follow Modern Warfare. If we had to pick from the two trailer the winner in our opinion is the Modern Warfare 3 launch trailer. The only thing though is that with MW3 chances are that gamers will be disappointed, being that the story line will probably be very short.

In case you didn’t know if you are an email subscriber  or a Twitter follower you are automatically entered to win either of the games, so you might hear from us tomorrow if you won the current giveaway. The great thing about the contest is that you get to choose from the two and if you want Modern Warfare 3, well send you a copy of that’s released.

Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Redemption Trailer

by Elias - on Oct 7th 2011 - No Comments

We have for you tonight the new trailer for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 entitled “Redemption” that shows you some of the interesting places where the singleplayer missions will be. It seems like there will be sub-Saharan missions in the game, so places like Somalia, Sudan and even South Africa come to mind. As you probably know Somalia is basically an Al-Qaeda safe heaven and that could be part of the game. It wouldn’t surprise me if we will see Mogadishu, Somalia where the whole Black Hawk Down incident happened back in 1993.
