GameFly’s PC beta client now available

GameFly has launched a public beta for their PC client, which lets subscribers play PC games for free. The client, among other things, includes “Unlimited PC Play,” a service that offers GameFly members free PC titles. As GameFly’s co-founder Sean Spector said in a press release (via Joystiq), users will be able to play core and causal titles like Assassin’s Creed, Earthworm. 

Star Wars: The Old Republic players facing long server queue times

Even with limited early access to the game for around a week, it seems players of the hotly-anticipated Star Wars: The Old Republic are having to deal with long wait times for access to the game’s servers. CVG reports that server wait times are ranging from 45 minutes, which seems to be the most common, to as long as two hours, despite Bioware’s efforts for a smooth game launch by letting.

There appears to be some technical problems with the newly-released PlayStation Vita in Japan. As Shacknews and Kotaku report, some users of Sony’s gaming handheld, which went on sale in Japan on Saturday, are experiencing freezing issues and unresponsive touchscreens. We could be getting the Star Wars Xbox 360 in April

According to a Kotaku source, that awesome Star Wars-themed Xbox 360 that was revealed earlier this year, but then delayed, will be released sometime in April 2012. As Gizmodo (via Kotaku) previously reported, the console has a R2-D2 design, customized sounds, and a sexy, shiny golden C-3PO-style controller. In “Heroes Mode,” players can assume the roles of Leon S. Kennedy, Claire Redfield, Carlos Oliveira, Jill Valentine, Hunk, Nicholai Ginovaef, Ada Wong, and Lone Wolf. After mysteriously dropping off the radar for quite some time, a new trailer for Metal Gear Solid: Rising finally popped up (above) at last week’s Video Game Awards — albeit, to some changes. One of the most noticeable differences to the Metal Gear spin-off was the game’s name change to Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, which, according to GameSpot, was done to distance itself.

New info and screenshots have emerged for Max Payne 3′s multiplayer, and as IGN details, the game will feature a narrative-driven mode and trick-based special abilities. As IGN reports in their multiplayer preview of the game, MP 3 will include a narrative-driven “Gang Wars” mode in which mission objectives/types change in each round.
