Our friends over at Kalypso have released some nice screenshots of their upcoming Legends of Pegasus. This game looks fun and is set in a futuristic world in which mankind has made tremendous progress colonizing space. As a real-time and turn-based strategy game, Legends of Pegasus will allow players to expand our civilization to other planets in our galaxy as well as building factories, laboratories and shipyards, researching new technologies and designing new spacecrafts to keep on exploring new galaxies.

Bethesda Softworks announced that Rage: Campaign Edition is now available worldwide for the Mac.

Like the title suggests, the game will let you play through the single-player campaign of id Software’s 2011 first-person shooter Rage. This time, though, you’ll be able to use items once exclusive to Rage: Anarchy Edition including Double Barrel Shotgun, Fists of Rage, Crimson Elite Armor, and Rat Rod Buggy.

Additionally, the Wasteland Sewers Missions — which I believe were locked out in the original game for those without an Online Pass — are now accessible in Rage: CE for more “looting opportunities,” according to the press release.

Published by Aspyr, Rage: CE can now be downloaded from Apple’s Mac App Store or other digital retailers like Aspyr’s GameAgent in either English, French or German.

“Aspyr has been a great partner, bringing id Software’s games to the Mac platform for years,” id’s president Todd Hollenshead said in the press release. “We’ve worked closely with them again to offer the amazing graphics and intense combat that RAGE is famous for to Mac gamers.”

You may have heard of the creator of Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective. The game was made by Shu Takumi, who is known for the extremely fun adventures of Phoenix Wright and Apollo Justice in the Ace Attorney series. The game continues with his signature style of quirky humor, logic puzzles, and fantastic story with engaging art to go with it. The story follows recently deceased Sissel as he tries to solve his own murder by going between the realms of the living and the spirit world, possessing various objects along the way.

The app is available for free on the iTunes App Store, with the first two chapters being available for free to download with the game. The rest of the chapters are available on the App Store for $4.99 packs or as one huge pack for $9.99. All in all a good deal for a magnificent game and definitely a great opportunity for those lacking the dual-screened Nintendo handheld.

LOS ANGELES – Feb. 1, 2012 – Submissions for IndieCade’s 2012 International Festival of Independent Games are now open at the IndieCade website: www.indiecade.com

IndieCade invites independent game artists and designers from around the world to submit interactive games of all types. Works-in-progress are encouraged.

IndieCade programs are designed to bring visibility to and facilitate the production of new works in the independent game community.

“Our mission is to spotlight the best cutting-edge work and the most innovative game designs — often thriving at the fringes of the game industry,” Stephanie Barish, CEO, IndieCade explains. “Our goal is to bring public as well as industry attention to exciting, innovative games, created by independent developers.”

Games selected will be spotlighted at the annual IndieCade Festival, Oct. 4 – 7, 2012; featured on IndieCade’s website and promoted via social media. Finalists will be considered for more than 12 categories, with winners honored at a formal awards ceremony during the fall festival.

Game-makers selected as finalists will receive two VIP all-access tickets to IndieCade 2012, including admission to the awards celebration and all VIP receptions and social events.

Any team that submits a game receives a main festival pass; an invitation to participate in  IndieXchange, a day long program offering practical workshops, networking opportunities and one-on-one meetings with art leaders, publishers and potential funders.

As seen in these comparison shots from Japanese website jin115 (via Kotaku), it looks like Soul Calibur‘s Pyrrah has gotten a face lift in the just-released fighting game Soul Calibur V.

You wouldn’t have guessed it, but Conan’s late night talk show sidekick Andy Richter lent his voice talent for the epic role-playing game The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.

Besides being a talk show sidekick and announcer, Richter is also an amazing actor who’s done work for various movies including Madagascar, Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa and the upcoming Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted, in addition to The Penguins of Madagascar TV show. (Oh, and let’s not forget Cabin Boy as well.)

Now it’s been revealed that Richter also did a bunch of character voices and even sound effects for Skyrim’s NPCs and creatures including Nords, Mud Crabs and Frost Trolls. See for yourself in the clip above from last night’s Conan episode.

Surprisingly, Richter says it didn’t take him a long to do the voice over work.

In the wake of Battlefield 3 PC players  getting recently banned from hackers, Battlefield 3 developer DICE is now looking for a security expert to help keep their games cheat-free.

A look at DICE’s Sweden job listings page, as spotted by GameSpot, reveals that the “anti cheat” administrator’s duty is to “secure the online experience” of DICE’s games and to keep leaderboards and gameplay “fair” by analyzing player behavior data and monitoring both the gameplay status and the cheating community.

As rumors of the next Xbox home console (the Xbox 720 as some are calling it) continue to ramp up, Microsoft tells French publication Le Point that there won’t be any new consoles from the company this year, reports CVG (via GamesRadar).

“What is certain is that there will be nothing new in 2012,” Microsoft France’s marketing director Cedric Delmas tells Le Point (via CVG translation), referring to an Xbox successor. Furthermore, he reportedly backs up his claim by adding that there hasn’t been any recent Xbox 360 price cuts yet.

In terms of Microsoft’s competition with Nintendo, Delmas added (via CVG translation): “We are not here to deal with Nintendo and they are not there to fight against other manufacturers. Nintendo has placed itself in a different cycle, they advance at their own pace, successfully as we have seen with the Wii, and now it is their turn to present their innovation.”

While the Xbox 720 may not be released this year, it’s been increasingly expected that it will be revealed at E3, nevertheless. The console will purportedly support Blu-ray and include a feature that prevents the playing of used games.
