There appears to be some technical problems with the newly-released PlayStation Vita in Japan.
As Shacknews and Kotaku report, some users of Sony’s gaming handheld, which went on sale in Japan on Saturday, are experiencing freezing issues and unresponsive touchscreens. Others reportedly can’t even boot up their Vitas, while one owner apparently has a stained screen.
Some of the freezing issues reportedly occur when installing a system update or when playing games like Dynasty Warriors Next (Shin Sangoku Musou Next). Sony’s Vita help page advises to hold down the power button to resolve this.
It’s uncertain how widespread these issues are, or if they’re simply due to user error, but hopefully there won’t be any problems when the Vita launches in the West on February 2012.
In addition to the six masked U.S.S. playable characters, Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City will also let you step in the shoes of eight classic RE characters.
In “Heroes Mode,” players can assume the roles of Leon S. Kennedy, Claire Redfield, Carlos Oliveira, Jill Valentine, Hunk, Nicholai Ginovaef, Ada Wong, and Lone Wolf. The first four apparently face off against the last four as the goal is to keep your team’s heroes alive before being wiped out by the other team.
RE: ORC will be released on March 20, 2012 for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, according to the above trailer.
After mysteriously dropping off the radar for quite some time, a new trailer for Metal Gear Solid: Rising finally popped up (above) at last week’s Video Game Awards — albeit, to some changes.
One of the most noticeable differences to the Metal Gear spin-off was the game’s name change to Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, which, according to GameSpot, was done to distance itself from the Metal Gear Solid series since they’re known for stealth gameplay. The other big change was how Bayonetta and Vanquish developer Platinum Games — who denied earlier rumors of being the developer for the title — was now confirmed to be, well, developing the title, while Kojima Productions produced it.
According to the game’s official website, the story, which, as GameSpot reports was originally a Metal Gear Solid 4 prequel about how Raiden became a cyborg, has also changed (at least in terms of the timeline) as it will now take place after the events of MGS 4. The game will still star the sword-wielding cyborg Raiden, who, according to the game’s website, will be in a world where cyborgs are rapidly populating the planet.
The original stealth and action gameplay has also been altered as the game will now have a “more aggressive new focus on pure, exhilarating action.”
Overseeing the game’s story, world and visuals will be Kojima Production, but despite their supervision, it seems not everyone is pleased about the game’s new direction and tone as reactions to the trailer have been mixed, acknowledged Platinum’s executive director Atsushi Inaba on Twitter (via VG 24/7).
The reboot of Revengeance comes after the near-cancellation of the project and how the concept of freely cutting everything and anything was initially not working out with the game design, especially combined with stealth elements, says Metal Gear creator Hideo Kojima in the video interview below, which reveals the game’s troubled development.
Take a look at Sacha Baron Cohen’s new movie coming from the same sick bastards behind Borat, Seinfeld and Curb Your Enthusiasm. The trailer will probably remind you of Muammar Gaddafi, the dictator from Libya. Please be aware that some of the content in the trailer might be offensive to some people, but for all you that have a good sense of humor you may want to check out the trailer up top.
If you were one of those unlucky ones that didn’t catch the VGA’s well we have you covered. In Spike TV’s VGA’s there were a few trailers that made quite of an impression on us and to start things off below we have the trailer for Naughty Dog’s “The Last of Us”, which is a game we were all expecting to learn more about. From the look of things, The last of Us will probably be the game that Naughty Dog wanted to make before they created the Uncharted series.
