EA: BF 3 has shipped 15 million units, ‘very significant share’ taken from MW 3

by Paul Yan - on May 9th 2012 - No Comments

Electronic Arts recently revealed how many copies of Battlefield 3 its sold shipped so far, while also praising the game’s accomplishment against Modern Warfare 3.

During an earnings call earlier this week, EA said that 15 million copies of BF 3 were shipped to retailers since launch, reports MP1st. The number of units actually sold was not mentioned, but in February, EA said they sold 10 million copies of its military first-person shooter. In comparison, BF 3’s main competitor MW 3 managed to sell 9.3 million copies worldwide on just its first day, according to VGChartz.

EA’s CEO John Riccitiello also took the time to mention how BF 3 accomplished its mission against MW 3 (*rolls eyes*). “We did what we said we’d do with Battlefield. Battlefield 3 took [a] very significant share from the leading competitor on its way to being one of the biggest selling titles in EA history,” said Riccitiello, adding “There will be exciting new developments for the Battlefield brand as FY13 progresses.”

Black Ops 2 – The things you should know

by Elias - on May 8th 2012 - No Comments

Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 was officially announced a couple of days ago and if you are a fan of the first person shooter, you will probably want to know of the details. If you follow our site, you probably saw the official reveal trailer that looks amazing and from the looks of things, Black Ops 2 will most likely sell more copies than Modern Warfare 3. Since this is a new Call of Duty, we thought that you should know some of the confirmed details on this much anticipated sequel.

It is obvious that Black Ops 2 is going to have a single-player campaign as well as multi-player & even zombies, which Treyarch and Black Ops is known for. Below are all of the details that we were able to dig up for you Call of Duty fans worldwide.

As as sequel to the original Black Ops, this game is going to be set in 2025, but the story will jump from late 1980′s to 2025. In the late 1980′s you experience the ending of the Cold War and in 2025 the United States is in some sort of conflict with China. At this point, China owns most of the world’s resources and that’s one of the main factors that creates static between both of the superpowers. There is also some sort of  conflict going on as the villain will be Raul Menendez, who is responsible for the conflict between these big superpowers.

The whole story is going to be narrated by Retired Sgt. Frank Woods, who was also seen talking in the reveal trailer. Below is a before and after photo of him.

In the 2025 part of the single-player story you take the role of David Mason, who happens to be the son of Alex Mason from the previous Black Ops. In the late 1980′s part of the story will be played by Alex Mason and certain parts of Central America will be seen in the game, so that’s probably the reason that there are horses in the trailer. The whole story is going to connect with Raul Menendez, who is responsible for pitting the Chinese and US governments against each other. Menendez also hacked the US’ unmanned drones and unleashed an attack on Los Angeles by putting our weapons against each other.

Other facts

  • There is going to be a female soldier in the game by the name of Anderson.
  • David Mason is going to to have a sidekick named Nelson.
  • Drones are going to be controllable in combat and will play an essential role.
  • There will be horses and horse-back riding in the game similar to Uncharted 3.
  • Vehicle segments are back and in one of the missions you will get to pilot a VTOL airship.
  • You will have choices in Black Ops 2 with different outcomes.
  • Popular features such as create-a-class, killstreaks might be taken away in this new game.
  • All of the multi-player will be on maps for the year 2025, but chances are that dlc will bring older maps.
  • The graphics will look better than Black Ops number one.
  • David Mason is going to have the call sign and that is: Section.
  • There will be at least one female protagonist in the game.
  • In 2025 there is a woman for a president and she will appear in the L.A. Mission.
  • There is a new game mode called “Strike Force”.

That’s all for now people, but continue to check with us as more details come our way. If you didn’t see the official reveal trailer you can see it below.

Sony will feature “20 Gaming Experiences” at E3

by Elias - on May 5th 2012 - No Comments

The good folks over at Sony will be bringing “20 gaming experiences” to this year’s E3. Let us cross our fingers and expect that Uncharted 4 get’s announced and of course there’s the obvious we’re going to see PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale and God of War: Ascension. It would be nice to see exclusive content from Rockstar Games like Grand Theft Auto V, but that’s another story. In our opinion Sony might be the winner out of the 3 console makers. You can see the full map of the show floor at E3 by clicking here.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 officially revealed with debut trailer

by Paul Yan - on May 1st 2012 - No Comments

Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 has been officially unveiled and here’s you first look at it.

Unlike past Treyarch-developed CoD games, it looks like Black Ops 2 will take place in the future in the year 2025 as mechs, quadrotor attack drones and hover jets are shown in the trailer. Additionally, there’s a glimpse of Los Angeles and horse-riding as well, and the trailer is narrated by an elderly man named Frank Woods who is presumably the main character from Black Ops 1.

Black Ops 2 will be released on Nov. 13 for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC. As a person who was getting a bit jaded with the CoD series, I have to say that this trailer made me wet myself and definitely has me psyched for Black Ops 2.

Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed announced

by Paul Yan - on Apr 30th 2012 - No Comments

Sega characters will once again be racing head-to-head as Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed has been revealed.

The racing game, which is a sequel to 2010’s Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing, will feature a mash-up of new and returning Sega characters like Sonic, Dr. Eggman, Super Monkey Ball’s AiAi, Golden Axe’s Gilian Thunderhead, and Skies of Arcadia’s Vyse. Like the name of the game suggests, you’ll now be able to drive in transformable vehicles, which will change into cars, boats and planes if you’re on land, water and air, respectively. In one track, for example, the road will collapse making your car turn into a boat as you now have to traverse a river rapid.

Sonic & All-Stars will include new tracks, with two based on Super Monkey Ball and Panzer Dragoon. There will also be a new mechanic letting your “All-Star bar” power up faster, and a new, “fair” weapon system will be implemented allowing you to block and dodge attacks. Additionally, the game will have an “enhanced” online multiplayer mode, along with Grand Prix and Battle Arena modes.

Sonic & All-Stars will be racing out in “late” 2012 for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita, and Nintendo 3DS. It will also be available as a digital download on PC. Click here for more screenshots of the game.
