So we have been working on creating a section on the website that cater to men and women looking for a way to make quick, delicious meals that are easy to make. A lot of the foods that we are going to talk about here focus on the healthy side of things, but in the future there will different meals for everybody to check out.
To introduce this new section of our site we are going to show you guys how to make a healthy rice with vegetables that taste delicious and is healthy at the same time. If you are not a vegetarian and would like to try this recipe with chicken it will be very easy.
So, let’s get started!
For the vegetarian plate all that you really need is some of your favorite vegetables. Our favorite ones and what we are using in this recipe are lettuce and tomatoes. If you have the following you can add to it, which will give you more fibers etc.
- Bell Peppers
- Onions
- Mushrooms
- Cucumbers
- Spinach
The Stuff you need
If you like Spinach you can add in the end to the rice pot while it’s cooking that way it will add some more fiber to the mix. The great thing about spinach is that it’s basically tasteless and so it doesn’t steal the flavor of the rice mix.
Instructions
Pour the rice in a 2 quart saucepan and fill that pan with half of water.
Cover it and let the water boil the rice until the water is steamed.
Monitor how the water dries up and wait at least for 22 minutes.
Pick your vegetables and chop them up and make a salad with the vegetables that you want to eat that you prefer cold. If you are adding mushrooms, spinach and onions you can add those to the rice pot in the last ten minutes of cooking the rice.
Marinating the salad
If you are making this plate you probably are looking for something light to begin with, so what I use is black pepper, oregano and salt. If you prefer to use salad dressing you can do that as well.
Adding Chicken
For non vegetarians out there interested in trying this plate you can add that leftover chicken to this plate by simply adding it to the end.
