These awards took months to pick and searches were a determining factor in our site as many of you readers searched for these games in our site.

So, lets get started!

Best Playstation 3 exclusive

The Nominees: Heavy Rain / God of War 3 / Mod Nation Racers

God of War 3

For the best Playstation 3 exclusive of 2010, we have chosen God of War 3. This game is awesome and really fun, but the most awesome part of this game is tha it’s addicting. For us it was really hard to pick between Heavy Rain and God of War 3, but in the end only the best wins.

Best XBOX 360 exclusive

Nominees: Alan Wake / Splinter Cell Conviction / Halo Reach

Alan Wake

In our pick of the best of the year for the XBOX 360 we have Alan Wake an awesome game that should be at least played by any XBOX 360 owner. This game’s story Is simply great and fans of psychological thrillers should like it. This game is exclusive to the 360 and it has already had some DLC and chances are that it will have sequels in the future.

Best Nintendo Wii Game

The Nominees: Disney’s Epic Mickey / Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom / Super Mario Galaxy 2

Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars

Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom is one of our favorite games for on the Nintendo Wii and for Capcom to do such great work at combining the characters of the two major franchise must of been quite a challenge. It would of been nice to see this title on the PS3 and XBOX 360, but this baby is exclusive to the Wii. Because this game is really fun and is even possible it deserves the Twisted Junk best game of the year.

Best PC Game exclusive

The Nominees: Tom Clancy Conviction / Starcraft 2 / Battlefield Bad Company 2

The winner for 2010 PC Game of the year is Starcraft 2: Wings of Liberty and the team at Activision/Blizzard did an outstanding job at what they do. This military futuristic based game is extremely addicting and its a game that even in a few years from now will still hold it’s value. If you haven’t jumped into this game you probably shouldn’t because you will probably miss days off from work just to get your fix from this game.

Starcraft 2: Wings of Liberty

Best PSP Game

The Nominees: Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker / Ace Combat: Joint Assault /Duke Nukem Trilogy

Ace Combat Joint Assault is our favorite pick on the best PSP for the year of 2010. This game brings puts you back inside fighter jets and best of all in the awesome city of San Francisco. With a game like this being on a portable device like the PSP it simply deserves to get picked on for game of the year. It was a bit tough to pick from Metal Gear Solid Peace walker as it was next to it, but Ace Combat deserves it.

Ace Combat: Joint Assault

Best Nintendo DS Game

The Nominees: Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars / Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective / Dragon Ball: Origins 2

The Nintendo DS didn’t have that many impressive games this year, but one game did it for us and this is Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective. This one is brought to you by Capcom so you know that it’s great and if you have a Nintendo DS you should probably check it out.

Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective

Best iPhone, iPod, iPad game

The Nominees: Shopping Cart Hero / Alpine Crawler World / Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars

If you have are a fan of the Grand Theft Auto series you will probably agree that Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown wars on the iPhone is the winner for 2010. This game was originally on the PSP as well as the Nintendo DS and Rockstar decided to put it on iTunes, which means that iPhone, iPods, and iPads have access to play it all through touch screen, which adds a nice feel to it. Because this was the first GTA on a touch screen it deserves game of the year for the iPad.

Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars [iOS]

Best Adventure Game

The Nominees: Donkey Kong Country Returns / Red Dead Redemption / God of War 3

The winner for the Best Adventure game category is Red Dead Redemption, and it is a well deserved award as it is probably the most original out there. If you have ever watched a western movie or are simply looking for an adventure game that will keep you entertained this game is it. It has a Sergio Leone feel to and if he were alive today this is how a game made by him would be. From what we hear the team at Rockstar went through a lot criticism to even get this game developed and approved. For our luck and that of other gamers they pushed this game and made it a reality, which tells you how awesome Rockstar Games really is.

Red Dead Redemption

Best First Person Shooter

The Nominees: Call of Duty: Black Ops / Halo 3 / Medal of Honor

Call Of Duty: Black Ops is the best first person shooter that came out on the year of 2010. We reviewed this game and next to Red Dead Redemption Black ops has been keeping us entertained for quite some time. There were some internet connection problems, but Treyarch and Activision have resolved  it and this makes it one of the best for 2010. If you play on the multiplayer make sure that you play our favorite Black Ops maps, which are: Nuketown, Summit, Radiation, Havana and Crisis.

Call of Duty: Black Ops

Best Game on Android

The Nominees:

Angry Birds / Air Control / Blow Up

For the Best Android game the award goes to Angry Birds, which is probably one of the most fun games in town. This game is extremely addicting and if you have an Android phone you can get it for free on the Android Market. If you have an Android phone and did not download this free game I really don’t know what you are doing with your life.

Angry Birds [Android]

Best DLC on any platform

The Nominees: Red Dead Redemption: Undead Nightmare / World of Warcraft: Cataclysm / Left 4 Dead 1, 2 The Sacrifice

The downloadable content for Red Dead Redemption entitled “Undead Nightmare” is the best out there now. It adds a new storyline, gameplay, and people that like zombies this DLC is the one to get. You still play as John Marston, but the world of the game changes from a regular western to a very scary game. This DLC deserves it, because Rockstar went their way to put a good product on top of an awesome game and the price was worth it.

Red Dead Redemption: Undead Nightmare

Best Publisher/Developer of the year 2010

The Nominees: Rockstar Games Take 2 Interactive / Activision Blizzard / Electronic Arts

For our favorite Publisher and Game Developer of the year, the award goes to Activision Blizzard. It was hard to pick from the 3 and when we narrowed it down it was either Take 2 Interactive or Activision Blizzard. Take 2 almost took the Award, but they are famously known for Grand Theft Auto and in 2010 no one saw news about Grand Theft Auto 5 or the future of that hit series, and quite frankly 2K’s Mafia 2 sucked. Because of the negatives they lost to Activision Blizzard, who have been really good to gamers everywhere. Activision Blizzard owns Treyarch, who created Call Of Duty: Black Ops, which was one of our picks for this year as best game. Whether you agree with us or not, Activision Blizzard worked very hard at keeping gamers happy this year, being that in addition to Blops fans of Starcraft series got to play Part 2 as well as World of Warcraft: Cataclysm.

Activision Blizzard you should be proud of yourselves.

Activision Blizzard

Best new gaming technology of the year

The Nominees: Playstation Move / Kinect

Although there are only two new technologies that compete with each other, being that the Nintendo Wii is a bit too old to be included here, the Award goes to XBOX 360 Kinect. This technology although it needs some improvement it only gets better with patches. Kinect has a very futuristic feel to it and it has massacred the Playsation Move with sales. Sure Move is much more precise and better at tracking people, but it’s basically a m more advanced Nintendo Wii, which most gamers already have.
