I know that there are a lot music videos out there that sometimes we see and quite frankly want, but unfortunately there are really no option as to how to download these videos and keep them in one’s personal collection. Sometimes these songs bring good memories especially childhood memories of better time in the past. These videos can come from Dailymotion, Myspace, Pornhub etc and these sites are awesome, but you can only watch these videos while on the site..

As you may know sites like Youtube and these other sites  sometimes have to take their videos off, which doesn’t allow you to watch the video once it’s been taken off their directories. That can get annoying after a while as you bookmark these videos to find out later on that you can’t play them again, or that the video is private..

In this tutorial, we are going to show you how to download videos from these sites like Youtube, convert them and add them to your favorite Mp3 player, iPods, iPhones, regular phones, portable video players, XBOX 360, Playstation 3, Nintendo Wii etc.

You will be able to watch them and convert them to the most popular formats, while keeping the good quality that you wanted. So let’s get started, I am going to show you the the tools you will need in order to download and watch Youtube videos on your computer, XBOX 360, Playstation 3, iPod, iPad, Zune and just any device imaginable.

Tools.
The tools that you need are basic and require a small amount of space in your computer, but most importantly they are free, which makes it even better.

To start you will need the following

1: Mozilla Firefox
2: A Firefox plug in that lets you download the video file
3: A Video converter that will convert your files into the desired format.
4: DVD Converter Portable

I’m going to assume that you are accustomed to PC’s as this is a Windows PC only tutorial and not a Mac or Linux machine. These programs work on Windows 2000, XP, ME, Vista, and Windows 7 so we have it all covered.

Step #1

Download and install Mozilla Firefox by clicking on the link below that applies to your specific location. This download is for Mozilla Firefox on Windows, which is a free download and for those who worry about viruses and stuff of that nature and let us assure you that Mozilla Firefox does not have any spyware or viruses. Once your download is finished run the install until it finishes it. If you already have Mozilla Firefox, skip this message and continue on to step 2.

Mozilla Firefox for the United States (English)
Mozilla Firefox Portable doesn’t require admin privileges (English) | Flash for portable Firefox
Mozilla FIrefox for international users other languages supported

Step #2

Assuming you already have Mozilla Firefox installed on your computer, find the Mozilla Firefox icon and open it, by clicking on the icon either in the desktop or at the start menu. Once Mozilla Firefox is opened what you do is click on Tools on your top left corner of the screen. Once you click on Tools, a drop down menu is going to come up and what you do is click on Add-ons.

This will bring up the Add-ons screen where there will be a search box. (Make sure that you click on the get Ad-ons tab on the Ad On Screen) Point your mouse to the search box and enter “Net Video Hunter” and press enter. Once you do that the “Net Video Hunter” plug-in is going to come up, click on the Add To Firefox button on your right and the process of adding this plug-will start. If you have trouble finding the Net Video Hunter plugin click here and in the site, click the green Add To Firefox button.

Once you have clicked on the Add to Firefox button a new screen is going to pop up, click on the screen and then press the Install button, which will be click able in 4 seconds. Now that you clicked the Install button on Firefox, you will get an option to restart Mozilla Firefox, which will activate Net Video Hunter plug-in.

Step #3

Now that you have installed Net Video Hunter plug-in on Mozilla Firefox, we are going to move on to the next step, which is the next process and that is downloading the file and how to go about it. To download a video file from whichever site that uses flash, you want to look at your bottom right and there will be a blue icon with a small white play symbol. See below in the small picture of how it actually looks on your bottom right Mozilla Firefox for windows.

Once you click on the small blue button on the bottom right of your Mozilla Firefox window, you will get the screen below. You have the option to download the video or simply play it in order to examine the file that you are about to download. Make sure that it’s the accurate files as there will be many that will show ads before playing the video and it may seem confusing to download all these ads. By clicking play you know exactly the file that you are getting, which saves time.

Click on download to obtain the file and a screen will pop up and ask you where you would like to save a file. This is something similar to downloading any other file online except that you will get a .flv file, which is a flash video file and will not work on anything, but your VLC media, which you can get by clicking here. We hope that you know how to save and download a file because if you don’t know how to do that you shouldn’t want to download video files online. If you do not know then ask somebody that may know to show you how to save and download files using Mozilla Firefox, but it shouldn’t be too hard.

Step #4

Now that you have downloaded the video file the next step is convert this file into a desired format that so that you can play it in your desired devices. Depending on where you would like to put it, we are going to link you to Any DVDConverterPortable. This software will convert your .flv to anything that you want, so check it out below.

To download Any DVDConverterPortable click here.

Once you download it and install the program you can run it AnyDVDConverter Portable looks like this below:

Drag the file to the center of the AnyDVDConverter window, which will make the picture in the middle go and it will turn into this.

We chose to convert the our file so that it will work on the Playstation 3 in HD 1080p. This file will be converted into a high definition .mp4 file that can be played in any PlayStation 3. Below you can see the process of the conversion process.

Below are the results to the video that we have just converted and playing on Windows Media Player.

You can rename the file to what you want and the best is that you can download video files from anywhere that offers flash video files. Eventually we hope that you can download Silverlight files, but as of now there is no support for downloading Microsoft Silverlight. We will keep you posted once there is a way that we can download Silverlight files.

The end!
