There is no doubt that here at Twisted Junk we love our first person shooters, but most people wonder well what are the best FPS that have come out since the new next generation consoles have come out. There are many first person shooters out there and we have the three consoles and since the PS3, XBOX 360 and the Wii were launched we have seen many succeed and many that simply suck. We first want to say that were taking the Nintendo Wii out of the first person shoot as it is too inferior to beat the Playstation and the XBOX 360. So let’s start with number 1:

#1 Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Vegas (Ubisoft)
If we had to rate an awesome first person shooter, Rainbow Six Vegas would be one of the ones on top. It’s available on the XBOX 360 and Playstation 3 and it came out around the launch of the PS3 so it’s a bit old, but don’t let that fool you, there are some nice multiplayer maps, and the game is like $3 bucks on Amazon. The game has great features, an arsenal of weapons and many areas that make up Las Vegas, especially Fremont street, where one of the missions takes place in. The many casinos and the night life that make Las Vegas is neatly shown in this awesome game so you will be shooting stuff around casinos. The game is good because it you and two guys work your way through the missions as Spec Ops, so yeah it has a similar to a swat team type of game, so they assist you in the many missions of the game and you play as their leader and you can give them orders as to what to do next.

#2 Call Of Duty 4: Modern Warfare (Activision/Infinity Ward)

We just finished this game and although it’s a bit old, we have to say it was really fun and very action packed. I know you are going to say well why didn’t you play that when it came out, we just didn’t get a chance to get to and we’re regretting it now because the game play is amazing. Modern Warfare had some great missions that and obviously it made the sequel, which we will be discussing later on. The price is reasonable as of now because you can get the game for about $8 bucks on Amazon.com

#3 Battlefield Bad Company 2 (Electronic Arts- EA)

If you are a fan of the Battlefield franchise,  you probably already know that no other EA game has made it to the status of Battlefield Bad Company 2. You will agree once you get your hands on this game, you will probably not put it down for a while. Battlefield Bad Company, the original game sucked, but this one  outdid itself because of the advance technology built in to it and better yet the multiplayer aspect  of the game make BBC 2 a worthwhile purchase.

#4 Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Vegas 2 (Ubisoft)

This is one that must be played because think about Rainbow Six Vegas 1, but with better graphics and a new better storyline and overall better gameplay. This game for some reason has better controls that it’s prequel so controlling will feel much better and realistic. Unlike the original the game is mostly set in the Nevada Desert and other locations with few missions in actual Las Vegas, which can be a bummer if  you expect to see Las Vegas and play around the strip. Don’t let that discourage you from getting this game because you do get to play in Las Vegas, it’s just that the storyline is based around different parts around Nevada and even other countries.

#5 Call Of  Duty 4: Modern Warfare 2( Infinity Ward/Activision)

Because I’m not a person that falls for trends that much, I simply let this one pass through me like a knife through butter, which I regret now because the game is simply amazing. All of my friends were playing it and so I decided to bite the bullet and buy the game and let me tell you that it was worth the purchase back when I got it. All of my friends were on it and every time we talk it was about Modern Warfare 2, so to us it was like crack cocaine.  If you don’t already have this game, we urge you to get it as it is really fun and worth every penny.

#6 M.A.G – Massive Action Game (Zipper Interactive & SCEA

This is one that will probably make the XBOX 360 fanboys vomit  for the fact that we are featuring M.A.G, which is a Playstation 3 exclusive and will never make it to the PS3. We will get to you 360 fanboys in a second so keep reading. M.A.G means Massive Action Game and this is one first person shooter that we cannot put down as you can pretty much play with about 256 players per server so the game is huge. If you have a PS3 and do not have this one, we urge you to get it as we know that you will love it.

#7 Halo 3 (Microsoft & Bungie

If you know XBOX and you know Microsoft that most likely you have heard of the Halo franchise and why wouldn’t you as it is a must have if you have an XBOX 360 and yes it is also exclusive to the XBOX 360 so you Sony PS3 fanboys are probably mad now as Halo will never make it to the PS3. Halo 3 is simply addicting and the gameplay makes it a worthwhile purchase.
