The Playstation Network is down for a few people

by Elias - on Feb 28th 2010 - No Comments

The Playstation Network is down to a few unlucky Playstation 3 owners. The problem is a big deal because some games do not work offline like Pixel Junk Monsters which you can’t play unless you are online. The shutdown appears to only affect original Playstation 3 owners that own the first consoles that came out and not PS3 slim owners. In an update via the Playstation.blog sony tells us that they are working on this issue.

Here is that statement below.

We’re aware that many of you are having difficulty connecting to the PlayStation Network this evening. Those of you with “slim” PS3s (the 120/250 GB models) appear to be unaffected.

Know that we have narrowed down the issue and have engineers working to restore service even as you read this. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you, and genuinely appreciate your patience while we work to resolve this.

In the meantime, you may want to follow our Twitter account for the latest updates.

Of course keep checking with us and we will let you know when news comes our way.

Is Google Buzz pissing people off or just confusing people?

Is Google Buzz pissing people off or just confusing people?

Well there is just no way around it social networking websites are becoming popular by the second. Before it used to be that you chat with your buddies on an instant messenger service  and that was it, but now with the technology in social networking sites you can do that and beyond.

It all started with Myspace and then that became a big hit, but then Rupert Murdoch’ News corp. buys it and then it sort of lost its touch. Facebook came around and that was a nightmare because every second someone wants to be your Facebook buddy so it was email almost daily. Then there were the other ones Friendster, Linkdin  blah blah blah.

It has got to the point that even Google decided to jump on that Social Networking kick with BUZZ, but the problem is that Google went about it the wrong way. They did it through Gmail, which is probably the most popular free email service in the world. Some people do not care for social networking and that is where Google screwed up.

There is nothing wrong with Social Networking as long as the companies that create them respect the user’s privacy. Google tries to do that, but they need to respect it’s users by understanding that email is just email and not a facebook or a Myspace. The real concern here is Kids because they are a big part of the world’s population and this is where cyber bullying comes in and all that stuff in between like rapists and child kidnapping.

There has to be an on and off switch for Google Buzz same as there is one for Facebook an Myspace. As of now you have the choice to modify Buzz, but can’t turn it off completely which is really irritating. Of course we all know that Google is awesome and were sure that they will something to protect the privacy of their users so it’s just a matter of time for them.
